Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP)
Wyoming is a constitutional carry state. Eligible U.S. residents 18 or older may carry concealed without a Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permit.
Wyoming also issues a Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) to eligible Wyoming residents 18 or older.
Although Wyoming does not require a permit for concealed carry, obtaining a CFP can still offer important benefits.
For residents, a Wyoming CFP allows the holder to carry concealed in certain locations where permitless carry does not apply, including public elementary and secondary school facilities, public college and university facilities, and qualifying public school, college, and university athletic events where alcoholic beverages are not sold.
A Wyoming CFP can also exempt the holder from the federal NICS background check when purchasing a firearm from a Wyoming FFL.
Wyoming does not issue a CFP to nonresidents. A person who moves out of Wyoming after receiving a permit may continue using the permit until it expires if Wyoming is properly notified of the address change, but the permit cannot be renewed after the person is no longer a Wyoming resident.
