Some states allow permitless concealed carry, but a concealed carry permit can still provide important benefits including additional state reciprocity, carry privileges, firearm-purchase benefits, and exceptions that do not apply to permitless carry.

Arizona
Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP)
Arizona issues permits to residents and eligible nonresidents. The permit provides additional carry benefits and can add New Mexico recognition for residents of many states.

Carry Concealed Weapons License (CCWL)
California requires a CCWL to carry concealed and now provides a process for eligible nonresident applicants. Training and firearm qualification are required.
